We’re all so decidedly exhausted of all this Covid. It’s important to look at the small and maybe even big high points when everything feels so very low! So, I felt it was a good time to give an update on my personal, professional, and creative milestones. First, from September to December, I was thrown into chaos as I prepared for my oldest daughter’s wedding! I had no clue what I was doing however formed some excellent connection with superior specialists who helped me pull it all together! Teri French, with French Kiss Productions, is known for her mad skills as a DJ, but she was so much more than just a DJ. I highly recommend her! Deve Frias with A Touch of Elegance and Ms. Ruth with CoutureEventsKy made the night magical with all the decor! Emily and Antonio’s wedding was perfect and beautiful and everything I could have dreamed of!
Next, I’ve been providing counseling for ten years now. Six with my current employer and I absolutely adore what I do and am honored to be able to help my clients. I’m grateful that I am capable and allowed to use my creative spirit to provide skill-building, crisis management, and resolve conflict in the lives of wonderful people! That being said, I’ve experienced many obstacles towards obtaining my licensure and Covid made it all that much harder. I woke up in 2022 determined to fight for what I want. So I’ve reconnected with people and am moving forward with determination! LPCA, here I come!!
Lastly, I feel tormented inside my heart that I’ve not been authentic with my gift and passion for writing. I’ve toiled behind the scenes, beating myself up, that all you amazing people who follow me, have probably felt essentially ghosted by me. I lost my best friend and co-writer four years ago and never truly processed that grief inside me; instead letting it get the best of me and silence my creative spirit. But no more!!! Again, I woke up this year, opened my eyes, and allowed the voices of my character to speak up, speak out, and I feel refreshed and energized! First, I’ve joined Hope*writers to get me back into writing, to find a family of creative souls like myself, and to give me that accountability I need. I’ve also…SUPER EXCITED… applied to begin an MFA program!
Those are the three biggest glimmers in my life recently. Three highs among so much stress, anxiety, and fear. I’d love to hear from YOU what some of your own highs have been. What has helped you hang in there, wade through the muck and mess of our world’s struggles. I’d love to hear it all!!!
